Tour Description

Features of the Tour

  1. Enter the Nangao Mountain Range Trail, one of the top three trails in central Taiwan, to get an insight of the two major indigenous battles during the Japanese Occupation Period in the Miji era, the Taroko Battle in 1914 and the Wushe Incident in 1930.
  2. Take the in-depth experience of the historic scenes in the movie “Seediq Bale” and recall the “Hakone in the mountains of Taiwan - Wushe” and the “Mona Rudao's Hometown - Mehebu She,” the indigenous towns during the Miji era.
  3. Visit the most typical mountain villages, “Chunyang, Jingying and Douda” for an experience activity at the Seediq indigenous tribes to physically feel the cultural heritage of traditional songs, guimbarde, and archery.
  4. Try and enjoy Seediq's traditional and tribal meals and drinks.
  5. Accommodations at Taiwan's most beautiful Tianchi Lodge, where it is the best place to see clouds in the mountains, cloud waterfall and look far into the distance at Nangao Main Summit and Kaheer Mountain.
  6. Climb to reach Nangao Saddle between the boundary of Nantou County and Hualien County and feel Taiwan's first east-west transporting path “Guangbeiba” Monument” to overlook the layers of mountains in Mugua River Watershed and the sunrise landscape in the Pacific Ocean.
  7. Climb two of the hundred mountains, the south peak of Mt. Qilai and the north peak of Nangao Mountain to experience Taiwan's most typical landscape of high-altitude grasslands.
  8. The tours are led by the guides who have multiple years of experience and are empowered to guide and introduce the tribal ecotourism with quality assurance.
  9. All the guides for tribal ecology guided tour have the skills for emergency medical aid and the BLS (basic life support) certificate and EMT-1 license (Emergency Medical Technician I)

Meals and Food: Lunch and dinner on the 1st day and breakfast on the 2nd day are arranged by the tribe, the lunch and dinner at the trail section on the 2nd day as well as breakfast and lunch on the 3rd day are jointly arranged by the staff in the tribe.

Experience Activity: Seediq hunter's archery experience activity (or Seediq's traditional dance performance)

Accommodation: Arranged by the tribe.


Detailed Introduction

The price includes: Roundtrip shuttle between the starting point and the HSR Wuri Station (including the full section in the tribe on the 1st day, roundtrip shuttle between the tribe and the trail entrance on the 2nd day, roundtrip shuttle between the tribe and the HSR Wuri Station on the 3rd day, ( not including the HSR train ticket fare), meal and food for the three days and 2 nights (including 2 traditional tribal meals, the meals and foods ready for mountain climbing, but the breakfast cost on the 1st day and the dinner cost on the 3rd night are excluded), the fees for the guided tour in the tribe and on the trail (one ecological tour guide for every 5-6 participants), the cost of experience activities, such as traditional Seediq tribal culture, guimbardes, and archery, accommodation in the tribe, mountain climbing travel insurance (NT $2 million contract liability insurance/ including emergency medical aid and emergency aid) and other related cost.

▼A reminder of things to carry:

  1. Personal gears, such as rain boots, sneakers and UV protection
  2. There are more mosquitoes in the mountains, it's recommended to carry anti-mosquito gears and wear light long-sleeve clothes, long pants, and cup to reduce the chance of exposure to the plants that might cause skin allergy or mosquito bites.
  3. In order to promote and practice ecotourism, please prepare a water bottle (Water supply stations will be provided by the tribe.), and eco-utensils for personal use.

▼ Safety Codes

  1. Because the itinerary is carried out in the mountain area, where some paths are narrow and curvy. All participants who drive should pay attention to road safety.
  2. Your safety is the most important concern, please take good care of your personal safety and security all the time. In case of having any physical discomfort, please notify the staff immediately.
  3. There are no clinical medicine available for the participants in the communities, please get ready with personal medicine!
  4. During free time, whoever would like to do his/her own activity, please inform the contact person of the community or the group member and be sure to take good care of your own safety.
  5. In case of having physical discomfort or feeling exhausted, please inform the full-time staff of the tour for safety first.

▼Registration Codes

  1. The tour participants agree to bear any charges derived from cancellation or delays once the tour Tour is purchased and paid.
  2. Please assemble at the scheduled time. In case of any private activities or late report to the assembly due to personal issues during the tour, please inform the contact person of the community, no refund will be made by the community.
  3. Above listed schedules of each itinerary are for reference only, some changes made to the schedule might occur due to road conditions or crowds of visitors during holidays.
  4. After registering for the tour, please be sure to get the confirmation from the contact person of the community. The meal menu is for reference only, the food materials are based on the on-site availabilities every season.


Cancellation Policy
  1. For cancellations up to 7 days before the tour starting day (excluding the starting day), all payment can be refunded.
  2. For cancellations from 6 days to 4 days before the tour starting day (excluding the starting day), 50% of the payment can be refunded.
  3. No cancellation is acceptable within 3 days before the starting day including the starting day. There will be no refund.
  4. No refund will be made for the suspension of participation with non-accountability of the organizer during the tour.
  5. It's suggested to endorse your registration 6 days before the tour starting day, but please be sure to inform “Touch Taiwan” the name and contact information of the new participant.
  6. In case of any natural disasters or uncontrollable events, Touch Taiwan will contact actively about the cancellation or refund.
